Fulbright TEA Program: Cultivating Teaching Excellence
The U.S. Embassy in Tajikistan is excited to announce the 2025-2026 Fulbright Teaching Excellence and Achievement Program. This program, which is a part of the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) and administered by IREX, offers international secondary-level teachers a unique opportunity to enhance their teaching skills and knowledge about the United States.
The Fulbright Teaching Excellence and Achievement (FTEA) Program consists of a six-week non-degree, non-credit customized academic program. Participants will engage in seminars on new teaching methodologies, student-centered learning, content-based instruction, lesson planning, and instructional technology. Additionally, they will have the chance to work closely with U.S. teachers and students in a practicum at a U.S. secondary school near their host university.
The program is fully funded and includes various benefits such as funding for TOEFL testing, J-1 visa support, round-trip airfare to the U.S., housing, meals, medical insurance coverage, and more. To be eligible, applicants must be current secondary level teachers in Tajikistan, have a bachelor’s degree, and a minimum of three years of teaching experience.
Educational administrators, teacher trainers, university faculty, and private English language tutors are not eligible to apply. Selection will be based on merit through a competitive process, and finalists will be chosen by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs in Washington, DC.
