A Ceremony Held for the Late Supreme Court Member Şahin Çil
The Supreme Court of Appeals held a ceremony to honor the late Supreme Court Member Şahin Çil, who passed away recently. The ceremony was attended by President of the Supreme Court of Appeals Mehmet Akarca, Chief Public Prosecutor of the Supreme Court of Appeals Bekir Şahin, members of the Supreme Court of Appeals, and Çil’s relatives.
During the ceremony, a moment of silence was observed in Çil’s memory, and his biography was read aloud. President of the Supreme Court of Appeals Mehmet Akarca expressed his deep sorrow over Çil’s passing and offered prayers for mercy. Akarca praised Çil as a devoted family man and a skilled lawyer who had made significant contributions to the field of judiciary.
Following the ceremony, the body of Şahin Çil was taken to Karşıyaka Cemetery for burial.
Şahin Çil began his legal career as a candidate judge in Istanbul and Bandırma. He later served as an investigative judge of the Supreme Court of Appeals and was elected as a member of the Supreme Court of Appeals in 2018, after previously holding the position of Head of the 7th Civil Chamber of the Ankara Regional Court of Justice.
Çil was also known for his contributions to the field of labor law, with many published articles to his name. He is survived by his spouse and two children.
The legal community mourns the loss of Şahin Çil and remembers his valuable contributions to the judiciary. He will be deeply missed.
