G.Ariunbaatar Receives Prestigious Russian Opera Award
G.Ariunbaatar, a soloist at the Mariinsky Theater, has been honored with the prestigious Casta Diva Russian Opera Award in the category of “Singer of the Year”. This recognition comes in light of his outstanding performances in several leading roles at the Mariinsky Theatre, as well as his participation in the premiere of a new version of “Rigoletto” by Giuseppe Verdi at the Bolshoi Theatre in Russia.
The award, established in 1996 to commemorate the 400th anniversary of opera, celebrates exceptional contributions to the opera world. Notable past recipients include renowned artists such as Irina Arkhipova, Galina Vishnevskaya, and Anna Netrebko.
G.Ariunbaatar made his debut at the Mariinsky Theatre in 2016, taking on the role of Escamillo in Carmen. His talent and dedication to his craft have been recognized with the highest state decoration of Mongolia, the Order of Genghis Khan.
Furthermore, opera enthusiasts can look forward to a special performance of the new version of “Rigoletto” at the Mariinsky stage as part of the Bolshoi Theater’s tour in St. Petersburg from April 25-27.
