Galatasaray Opens Training to Fans

Galatasaray Football Club held an open training session at the Florya Metin Oktay Facilities under the leadership of coach Okan Buruk. The club allowed both press and fans to attend. Approximately 2,000 fans filled the sidelines and stands to support their team. Despite large numbers of fans who were not able to enter the facilities, some fans watched the training from the surrounding trees. The players had recently lost the Beşiktaş derby in the 32nd week of the league, but the cheers from the fans gave the players a boost of morale.

Dursun Özbek, the chairman of the club, and Erden Timur, the Deputy Chairman of Sportif AŞ, attended the training session. The management and the players posed for a photo in front of the fans, with Özbek and Timur hugging each player to show support.

During the training session, the players were divided into two groups and started with warm-up and quickness movements before moving on to passing and catching exercises. One group played a miniature castle match, while the other group focused on attacking and defending. The training ended with a double goal match in the narrow field. Sam Adekugbe, a Canadian football player, also took part in the training, although he had been allowed due to his uncle’s passing.

After training, the fans offered baklava to the players. The fans celebrated with cheers and torches, but some tried to take pictures with the players, bypassing security guards. Fans even cheered for and supported players who had made mistakes in previous games, showing their loyalty and dedication to the team.

The open training session showed the close relationship between the players, management, and fans of Galatasaray Football Club.
