GAU Provides Practical Training on Emergency Response in Earthquake and Disaster
GAU Hosts Emergency Response and First Aid Training Event
Girne American University (GAU) recently hosted a practical training event focused on emergency response and first aid in earthquakes and disasters. The event, held in partnership with GAU School of Health Sciences, Faculty of Health Sciences, and TRNC AKUT Association, aimed to educate participants on proper protocols during emergencies.
The event took place at the GAU International Spectrum Congress Center, where students from the Emergency Aid and Disaster Management Department enacted scenarios to demonstrate how to respond to disasters. GAU Vice Rector, Prof. Dr. Oya Ertuğruloğlu, along with other academics and students, observed the exercises.
In addition to the practical training, the event also marked World Paramedics Day and featured speeches from GAU Health Vocational School Assistant Director Assoc. Dr. Buket Hüseyniklioğlu, TRNC AKUT Association President Mehmet Kemalbay, and Health Vocational School Lecturers Dilek Sarıyıldız and Fatma Tüysüz.
Overall, the event at GAU served as a valuable opportunity for participants to learn essential skills in emergency response and first aid, promoting a safer and more prepared community.
