Germany Will Not Allow Assad Regime’s Agents to Take Refuge
German Foreign Minister Baerbock has made a firm statement, declaring that the German authorities will not permit the agents of the Assad regime to seek refuge in Germany. In an interview with the weekly newspaper Bild am Sonntag, Baerbock emphasized that any individuals involved in the regime’s atrocities will be held accountable under the full force of the law.
“We will not tolerate any of Assad’s torturers seeking refuge in Germany. Those who have committed terrible crimes will face legal consequences,” stated Baerbock.
Highlighting the importance of collaboration between international security authorities and intelligence services, Baerbock urged for close cooperation in order to prevent any potential threats to national security.
Meanwhile, German Minister of Internal Affairs Nancy Faeser reiterated the country’s strict border controls and vigilance against individuals linked to the Assad regime attempting to enter Germany.
“We are on high alert. Those associated with Assad’s terrorist regime should be aware that Germany will not tolerate their presence and will pursue justice for their crimes rigorously,” warned Faeser.
