German Police Crack Down on Palestinian Supporters
In Berlin, Germany, a group of Palestine supporters staged a sit-in protest in the garden of Humboldt University without permission. The rector, Julia von Blumethal, tried to intervene by asking the demonstrators to end the action, but they refused to comply.
After three hours of waiting, Berlin police intervened and removed the Palestinian supporters from the university garden. Some demonstrators who resisted were temporarily detained for identification purposes.
During the protest, the demonstrators chanted slogans such as “Free Gaza”, “Germany, stop arms shipments to Israel”, “Stop the genocide”, and “Long live Palestine”.
