German Police Issue Warning to Stay Indoors Amidst Reported Sighting of Loose Lion

Wild Lioness Spotted near Berlin, Residents Urged to Stay Indoors

Residents in the districts of Stahnsdorf, Kleinmachnow, and Teltow in the south of Berlin have been warned by the Brandenburg state police to avoid going outside following reports of a wild lioness in the area. Officials have also advised pet owners not to take their animals outdoors.

According to police spokesman Daniel Keip, eyewitnesses claimed to have witnessed a predator attacking a wild boar during the night. Footage of the incident has been reviewed, confirming the presence of a lioness. Keip stated, “At the moment, there is no reason to doubt its authenticity.”

The origin of the wild animal has yet to be determined. Authorities have conducted searches of zoos, animal parks, circuses, and animal shelters in the local area. Both air and land search activities are underway to locate the lioness.

In case of encounters with wild animals, officials will evaluate each situation individually to determine whether to utilize tranquilizer darts or resort to shooting. Public safety remains a top priority.

Residents are urged to remain cautious and follow the instructions provided by local authorities until the situation is resolved. Updates on the search for the lioness will be communicated as new information becomes available.
