Get ready for a scorching heat wave with temperatures reaching 42 degrees!

A new heatwave is expected to hit the Western regions, with thermometers showing temperatures between 40-42 degrees. CNN TÜRK Meteorology Advisor Prof. Dr. Orhan Şen issued a warning on social media about the upcoming extreme heat in the Marmara, Aegean, and Mediterranean regions starting from today and continuing throughout the week. He advised people to stay indoors between 11-16, drink plenty of water, wear light-colored, loose clothing, and protect themselves from the sun to prevent heat-related illnesses. There is also a significant risk of forest fires, so smoking near the forest or in vehicles should be avoided.

In the Marmara region, temperatures are expected to reach 32-34 degrees, while the Aegean region will experience intense heat, with temperatures of up to 40 degrees in Manisa, Muğla, and Denizli, and 42 degrees in Aydın. The Mediterranean cities will have dry but very hot weather, with temperatures around 38-40 degrees.

Meanwhile, Central Anatolia will also face hot weather this week, with local showers and thunderstorms expected in the Central and Eastern Black Sea, as well as northern Eastern Anatolia. Heavy rain is forecasted in Eastern Anatolia between Erzincan, Erzurum, Van, and Hakkari. The Southeastern regions will continue to have high temperatures.

The General Directorate of Meteorology issued a daily warning about weather conditions, stating that certain parts of the country will experience partly to very cloudy weather with local showers and thunderstorms in specific regions. Wind speeds are expected to increase in certain areas as well.

Temperatures are projected to rise in the western, southern, and inland regions, exceeding seasonal norms, while temperatures in the east of Eastern Anatolia will be around seasonal averages. Wind patterns will mainly be from the northerly directions, ranging from light to occasionally moderate or strong in specific regions.

Due to the possibility of heavy rainfall in the Eastern Black Sea region and surrounding areas, precautions should be taken to avoid any negative impacts from the weather conditions. Stay safe and stay updated on the latest weather forecasts to prepare accordingly.
