Get Ready: Outdoor Pool Prices Set to Increase this Summer in Hungary
Outdoor pool prices and ice cream costs are expected to rise this summer in Hungary, according to recent reports. With the official beach season depending on the weather, outdoor pools typically open when the temperature hits 30 degrees Celsius. Renovations and maintenance are underway at various spas in anticipation of the summer rush, with pools set to open from late April to mid-June.
While outdoor pool prices will not skyrocket, visitors should expect a 5-13 percent increase in ticket prices at Budapest Spa and Thermal Baths Ltd. Compared to last year, single tickets may be around HUF 100-200 more expensive, while family passes could see a rise of HUF 300-500. Popular spots like Palatinus in Budapest are projected to have adult tickets priced between HUF 5,000 to HUF 5,500 and family admission ranging from HUF 11,000 to HUF 15,300.
In addition to pool prices, the cost of ice cream may also see a slight uptick this summer. The rise in global cocoa and chocolate prices, coupled with increased operating expenses, could lead to higher prices at ice cream shops. Despite this, vendors are expected to keep their rates relatively stable in an effort to retain customers. A scoop of ice cream may cost between HUF 500 to 600, while a slice of cake could range from HUF 1,000 to 1,500.
As summer approaches, it’s important for tourists and locals alike to be prepared for these potential price increases while enjoying the warmth and leisure activities that the season brings.
