Niyazi Serhat Akın, the former national football player of Erzincan origin, has had a remarkable career in the world of football. Born on June 5, 1981, Akın’s journey in the sport began at a young age when he started playing in Germany in 1991. He joined the infrastructure of the Karlsruher SC team and honed his skills there until 2000.
In the year 2000, Akın made a significant move to Fenerbahçe, where he not only showcased his talent but also earned a spot in the Turkish national team. Following his time at Fenerbahçe, he was transferred to RSC Anderlecht before briefly joining Germany’s 1. FC Köln on loan during the 2006-2007 season. He later returned to RSC Anderlecht and continued to make a name for himself in the football world.
In 2008, Akın signed a contract with Kocaelispor, a newly-promoted team in the Super League. However, due to financial issues and lack of attention, he terminated his contract with the club in the middle of the season. Despite interest from Kayserispor and Beşiktaş, he decided to sign a 1.5-year contract with Konyaspor.
