Gezeravcı’s Family Returns to Hometown with Pride and Joy
The Gezeravcı family, who recently welcomed their son Alper Gezeravcı back home after his historic journey to space, have returned to their hometown feeling proud and joyful. The family was visited by Silifke Mayor Sadık Altunok, AK Party Silifke District Chairman Mehmet Emin Kurt, and MHP Silifke District Chairman Kıvanç Derya, who presented them with a Turkish flag.
Father Ali Gezeravcı expressed his pride and joy, stating, “On the 100th anniversary of our Republic, the pride and joy of our son Alper Gezeravcı filled all people with joy. I am very pleased with him and hope that he will be useful for future generations.”
Mother Sıddıka Gezeravcı also shared her pride, saying, “I am proud to be the mother of the first Turkish astronaut who went to space on the 100th anniversary of our Republic. I would like to thank everyone who contributed to his success.”
Silifke Mayor Sadık Altunok commended Alper Gezeravcı for bringing pride to the town and the country, stating that students in the schools they visited aspire to be like him. He also announced plans to establish a Space Science Center in Silifke to inspire future generations.
The return of Alper Gezeravcı has brought immense joy and pride to his family and the community, as they look forward to his continued success and contributions to space exploration.
