“Ghost Trio Forms Partnership in the Sky with KAAN as Leader”

Turkey has unveiled its new National Combat Aircraft, named “KAAN,” at a ceremony attended by President Erdogan. The aircraft will have superior capabilities for air-air and air-ground combat, and will coordinate with unmanned systems ANKA 3 and KIZILELMA for control purposes. Defense and Maritime Researcher Kozan Selçuk Erkan said the unmanned systems such as ANKA 3 and KIZILELMA will be in the majority in the future, and that KAAN will “shepherd” these planes.
Additionally, the TUSAŞ facility introduced other aircraft, including HÜRJET, ATAK 2, ANKA 3 and Super Şimşek UAV systems, which will cooperate with KAAN. Erkan said that ATAK 2, a newly designed helicopter, will be an important product in the export market. Turkey’s expertise in developing, producing, and operating helicopters is better than in aircraft manufacturing. Erkan said the helicopter T-925 Utility Helicopter, which has a load carrying capacity of 10 tons, will work by taking a significant amount of water into the fire basket and respond to fires.
Turkey is also working on developing the TF-6000 engine, which is needed to increase the capabilities of UAV systems. The development of the domestic engine will enable the country to increase its speed of work and capacity. With the powerful engines going into service, KIZILELMA will become a multi-purpose aircraft like an F-16, and ANKA 3 will be used for deep impact missions without being seen, similar to a B-2.
