Girl Scouts Shape the Future with Friendship Camp.

Girl Scout Organization Association holds Friendship Camp to train new scouts under the “Girl Scouts Shape the Future” Project funded by the European Union (EU) and carried out by the Association. The three-day camp held between 12-14 May in Iskele was a part of the “Cypriot Civil Society at Work VII” Grant Program.

The association leaders gained experience by attending the Annual World Independent Scout Federation workshop organized by De Gule Spejedere i Danmark in Denmark in September 2022. They shared their knowledge and experience with child scouts during the Friendship Camp, which helped increase the capacity of the association.

The camp focused on teaching the Girl Scouts various skills such as handicrafts, fire-making, establishment of facilities, and cooking over the fire. Esen Bahadır, the head of the Girl Scout Organization Association, emphasized the importance of scouting at a young age and explained that scouting helps children develop important skills, including character, health, and courage. He added that such camps will continue to promote self-confidence, resourcefulness, positivity, and cooperation among children and young adults.

The Friendship Camp was a successful training program that helped young girls develop important life skills. It also showed the importance of outdoor activities in promoting children’s physical and mental development, and the role of scouting organizations in forming better individuals.
