Global Conference in Ashgabat Focuses on Interregional Economic Collaboration

Interregional Economic Cooperation Discussed at International Conference in Ashgabat

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan recently hosted the International Conference “International Year of Peace and Trust: the Role of Interregional Economic Cooperation in Ensuring Sustainable Development” on March 19, 2025, in Ashgabat. The conference attracted numerous guests from around the world who gathered to engage in discussions on promoting economic cooperation between regions.

Among the attendees were members of the Government, heads and representatives of ministries and industry departments of Turkmenistan, as well as representatives of international organizations and financial institutions. The conference also saw participation from the public and private sectors of countries in Central Asia, the Middle East, the Asia-Pacific region, and Europe, along with rectors of Turkmen universities and members of the media.

The event commenced with a congratulatory message from President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to the participants, followed by an address from the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, who emphasized the importance of peace, trust, equality, and mutual benefit in economic partnerships. The key role of Turkmenistan in promoting interregional economic cooperation based on mutual respect and the interests of all parties involved was recognized during the conference. The importance of expanding trade, economic, and investment cooperation, as well as industrial cooperation between countries, was also emphasized.

At the conclusion of the conference, a Final Document was adopted, and an Address to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov was issued. Additionally, foreign guests engaged in bilateral meetings with their Turkmen colleagues from relevant ministries and departments, further solidifying the discussions on interregional economic cooperation.
