Governor Gül Warns of Impending Earthquake, Plans to File Criminal Complaint
Istanbul Governor Davut Gül has spoken out against the spread of false information on social media regarding an expected “great earthquake.” In a statement on his social media account, Gül urged the public to ignore manipulative shares and voice recordings that are causing panic among citizens.
He emphasized that these claims are not supported by scientific data and serve no purpose other than to create fear and confusion. Gül advised people to rely on official information provided by the AFAD Science Board and disregard unfounded rumors.
Furthermore, Governor Gül announced that identification procedures have begun for individuals responsible for spreading misinformation, and criminal complaints will be filed against them. He stressed the importance of staying informed through reliable sources and not giving in to fear-mongering tactics circulating on social media platforms.
