Governor’s Office Releases Flash Statement on Fatal Night in Sakarya
A tragic incident occurred in the early hours at the 3168th Street of the Serdivan Beşköprü district, resulting in the loss of three lives and multiple injuries. The dispute between two neighboring families escalated into an armed conflict, leading to a devastating outcome. Yaşar Özkurt, Onur Özyurt, and Volkan Yıldız tragically lost their lives, while eight others were injured.
The authorities swiftly responded to the scene, with a large number of police and medical teams arriving to provide assistance. The wounded were rushed to the hospital for treatment, but unfortunately, Volkan Yildiz’s brother Fahri Yildiz and Ozgur Ozyurt could not be saved. Three individuals involved in the conflict were apprehended, while one remains at large.
Strict security measures were implemented in the neighborhood and hospital to ensure the safety of residents and patients. The police maintained a strong presence to prevent any further disturbances. Governor’s Office issued a statement expressing regret over the incident and emphasizing the ongoing investigation.
The funeral ceremonies for the deceased were held with heavy security measures in place. Yaşar Özyurt and his sons were laid to rest in the district of Karasu Kuyumculu neighborhood, while the Yildiz family will hold their funerals at the Industrial Mosque in Beşköprü.
