Governorship of Izmir Issues Cold and Rainy Weather Warning
The Governor of Izmir has issued a statement regarding the upcoming weather conditions in the city. According to the Meteorology 2. Regional Directorate, cold and rainy weather is expected to affect the city, starting from the northwest parts influenced by the Balkans.
Air temperatures are forecasted to decrease throughout the province, with the seasonal norms dropping to 4 to 6 degrees below 4 degrees starting on Monday. The cold weather is expected to persist in Izmir until Friday, the 11th of April, 2025.
Due to the sudden decrease in night temperatures, there is a risk of agricultural frost in the province, where agricultural activities are ongoing. The Minister of Environmental, Urbanism, and Climate Change has instructed the Meteorology 2. Regional Directorate to be prepared for snowfall, agricultural frost, and frost events, and to monitor the situation closely.
