Weather Warning: Thunderstorms Expected in Ankara
The General Directorate of Meteorology has issued a warning that thunderstorms are expected in Ankara after noon today. The Ankara Governorship has also warned citizens to be cautious and careful following the Meteorology warning.
According to the latest data received from the Analysis and Forecast Center of the General Directorate of Meteorology, the thunderstorm expected in Ankara is likely to be strong, with possible flash floods, floods, lightning, local hail, and heavy rain. It is advised to be vigilant against wind-related dangers.
In addition to the thunderstorm warning in Ankara, there are other weather warnings in different regions of Turkey. Heavy rain is expected in the northwest of Central Anatolia, the inner parts of the Western and Central Black Sea, and around Zonguldak, Kocaeli, Sakarya, Bilecik, Kütahya, Afyonkarahisar, and Isparta. Sudden floods, lightning, local hail, and strong winds are anticipated in these areas.
There is also a dust transport warning for the inner parts of the Mediterranean and Central Anatolia, as well as a high wind warning for the inner Aegean, Western Mediterranean, and southwest of Central Anatolia.
In terms of regional weather forecasts, Marmara is expected to experience intermittent showers and thunderstorms, while the Ege region will see showers and thunderstorms, especially around Kütahya and Afyonkarahisar. The Mediterranean region is forecasted to have local showers and thunderstorms in the inner parts, with heavy rain around Isparta.
In Central Anatolia, intermittent showers and thunderstorms are expected, with locally heavy rainfall in the north and west of the region. The Western Black Sea region will experience intermittent showers and thunderstorms, while the Central and Eastern Black Sea regions will have showers and thunderstorms in the inner parts.
The weather in Eastern Anatolia is expected to be cloudy with showers and thunderstorms, while the Southeastern Anatolia region will have local showers and thunderstorms in the south and east.
