Greek Border Creates Challenges for Citizens Transitioning South – BRTK
The People’s Party Chairman Kudret Ozeray has raised concerns over new challenges faced by citizens at the Metehan passing gate. Ozeray has pointed out that citizens with vehicles bearing the name “South” are being denied entry, causing unnecessary difficulties.
In a written statement, Ozeray called on Greek leader Nikos Hristodulides to address these issues, questioning whether the rules or instructions given to officials have been changed. He emphasized that these obstacles were not present in the past and urged for a resolution to the administrative difficulties causing inconvenience to citizens.
Referring to the Greek leader’s promises of citizenship and benefits to children of mixed marriages, Ozeray expressed doubts about the impact on the affected citizens. He called for an end to the contradictory situation and highlighted the discrimination faced by thousands of citizens based on their origin.
Ozeray also questioned why some citizens were allowed to pass while others were denied entry, calling for a reevaluation of the discriminatory practices at the passing gate. He urged for a proactive approach to address the plight of the affected citizens and to rectify the unjust treatment they are facing.
