
Grocery Chains Hiring Seasonal Staff in High-Traffic Areas

Lidl and Aldi Hungary are gearing up for the summer season by recruiting new employees to meet the increased demand in their stores near Lake Balaton and Lake Velence.
Lidl has started its summer recruitment drive to fill nearly 200 new positions in its high-traffic stores located on the shores of Lake Balaton and Lake Velence. The selected candidates will receive special salaries and accommodation. Aldi is also on the lookout for seasonal workers, offering competitive starting salaries to potential employees.
Lidl Hungary is focusing on offering customers a diverse range of high-quality and affordable products, including barbecue items, ice creams, beers, wines, and various non-food items for the summer season. To maintain service standards during the peak season, Lidl is creating eleven new seasonal jobs in each of its eleven stores near the lakes between April 1 and August 31.
Judit Tőzsér, Lidl Hungary’s Corporate Communications Manager, mentioned that the company will hire new staff every month starting from April, creating nearly 200 new jobs with special pay packages for the peak season. The positions offer an entry-level gross income of HUF 588,000 (EUR 1,489) for 40 hours per week, along with accommodation.
Applicants for these positions will have the option to choose between full-time and part-time roles, with fixed-term contracts lasting between 1 to 5 months. Lidl also offers reimbursement of travel expenses and subsidies for car travel, as well as a comprehensive health program for employees.
On the other hand, Aldi is also expanding its product range in stores around Lake Balaton and is planning to create approximately 100 new seasonal jobs across its ten stores near the lakes. The positions at Aldi offer competitive wages, with monthly salaries ranging from HUF 413,300 (EUR 1,047) to HUF 551,000 (EUR 1,395), depending on the weekly working hours.
