Gülbaharlar Gang Bust in Şanlıurfa, Mersin, Ardahan, and Istanbul Operation
Minister Yerlikaya announced on social media that the Organized Crime Organization known as “GÜLBAHARLAR” has been dismantled in Şanlıurfa. This achievement was made possible through the “KAFES-48” operations, which took place simultaneously in Şanlıurfa, Mersin, Ardahan, and Istanbul, leading to the capture of 16 suspects, including the ringleader Celal Gülbahar.
In his statement, Minister Yerlikaya assured the nation that city bandits will not be given any breathing space. The government is determined to eradicate organized crime organizations that disrupt the peace of the nation, one by one, and put them behind bars.
Under the coordination of the General Directorate of Security KOM Presidency, the Şanlıurfa Provincial Police Department KOM Branch Directorate led the successful Cage-48 operations in the four provinces. The suspects involved in the Gülbaharlar gang were found guilty of establishing an organization for criminal activities, qualified theft, threatening and deliberately injuring individuals with weapons, endangering public security, property damage, and other crimes under law no. 6136.
During the operations, authorities seized 3 unlicensed firearms, 2 shotguns, and a significant amount of ammunition, checks, and promissory notes. The investigations are ongoing to uncover more details.
Minister Yerlikaya commended the dedicated police officers who carried out the operations, expressing gratitude for their bravery and commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of the nation.
