The family of Gülistan Doku, a child development student in Tunceli, Turkey, has been waiting anxiously for justice since she went missing on January 5, 2020. Doku was staying in a dormitory at the time, and she was last seen leaving there. Despite relentless efforts by law enforcement and her family, she has yet to be found.
The primary suspect in her disappearance is Zeynel Abarakov, who was the last person the family spoke to on the phone after reporting her missing. However, Abarakov was released with judicial control and a travel ban during the investigation. The family’s lawyer is now calling for his arrest, even if it’s on a precautionary basis.
Moreover, Abarakov has not been heard from since August 24, 2022, despite signing in every 15 days. This raises several questions about his involvement in Doku’s disappearance.
Doku’s family has been waiting for justice for over two years now, and they have yet to receive any answers about her whereabouts. The uncertainty and the lack of progress in the investigation have taken a severe toll on their mental health.
