Hamas Condemns Israeli Attack on Gaza Hospital
In a recent statement from Hamas, the targeting of Masjid al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Gaza by the Israeli army was strongly condemned. The attack, which also affected the al-Ehli Baptist Hospital and its emergency service building, resulted in the displacement of patients and the wounded, leading to accusations of yet another chain of crimes committed by the occupying forces.
The statement highlighted the blatant violations of international law by Israel in targeting hospitals, with direct responsibility being placed on the US administration for its support of the attack. Hamas described the Israeli army as a criminal organization that acts without regard for laws or human norms, attributing these actions to the political and military backing provided by the US.
The silence of the international community, particularly the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), in the face of such atrocities was also criticized in the statement. Hamas called for urgent action from Arab and Islamic countries, as well as international organizations, to put an end to the ongoing genocide in Gaza and to hold Israel accountable for its actions.
The air strike on the Al-Ehli Baptist Hospital not only damaged the surgical operation building but also hit the medical oxygen production station vital for intensive care patients. As a result of the attack, patients and injured individuals were left lying on the streets outside the hospital, with many in critical condition and in need of immediate assistance.
Hamas urged all Arab and Islamic peoples, as well as free peoples around the world, to recognize their historical responsibility in standing against Israel’s systematic massacre in Gaza. The pressure on Israel must be increased in all spheres to halt the ongoing violence and protect the lives of innocent civilians.
