Hamas Official Calls for International Pressure on Israel to Uphold Ceasefire Agreement
In a recent video recording, Hamas official Hamdan condemned Israel for violating the ceasefire agreement. He outlined six categories of Israeli violations, including issues related to aid and housing, humanitarian protocols, violations in the field, treatment of prisoners, the Rafah border gate and Philadelphi corridor, and political violations.
Hamdan urged the international community and the United Nations to intervene and compel Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu to abide by the terms of the ceasefire. He stressed the importance of a permanent ceasefire, the withdrawal of Israeli forces, and the provision of aid and shelter for Palestinians affected by the conflict.
Additionally, Hamdan called for the opening of border gates to allow life-saving aid into Gaza. He reiterated the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination, the establishment of a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital, and the implementation of UN resolutions regarding the return of refugees.
Hamdan emphasized that the responsibility for maintaining the ceasefire lies with mediators and guarantors of the agreement. He warned that Israel was seeking to cancel the existing agreement and negotiate a new one, potentially putting the fragile truce at risk.
As tensions remain high between Israel and Hamas, international pressure is mounting to ensure the protection and well-being of civilians in the region. Hamas continues to advocate for a just resolution to the conflict and the fulfillment of Palestinian rights.
