Hamas Announces Release of 110 Palestinian Prisoners from Israeli Jails
In a recent statement released by Hamas, it has been confirmed that tomorrow, 110 Palestinian prisoners currently held in Israeli jails will be released. According to the statement, among those to be freed, 30 are children, 32 have been sentenced to life imprisonment, and 48 are facing heavy imprisonment terms.
The Palestinian prisoners, including those sentenced to life imprisonment and heavy sentences, will be sent out of Palestine as part of the release agreement. This move comes ahead of a ceasefire and captive exchange agreement between Hamas’s military wing, Izzeddin al-Kassam brigades, and Israel. As part of the agreement, 3 Israeli prisoners are expected to be released tomorrow.
The Israeli Prime Minister’s office has confirmed that the mediators involved in the ceasefire and captive exchange agreement have delivered the list of Israeli prisoners to be released to Egypt. This exchange marks the second round of releases between Hamas and Israel, with the prisoner named Arbel Yehud set to be freed.
Thanks to the efforts of mediators from the United States, Qatar, and Egypt, both parties have agreed to conduct an additional captive exchange tomorrow. This move signifies a positive step towards peace and reconciliation in the region.
