Hamas Official Condemns Construction of New Settlements in West Bank
Hamas Political Bureau Member Harun Nasireddin recently spoke out against the construction of new houses in the Gush Etzion settlement block in the southern West Bank, which has resulted in the seizure of Palestinian lands. Nasireddin, who has not competed in the area for 20 years, expressed his concerns over Israel’s plan to annex the West Bank and Gaza Strip through the acceleration of settlement construction.
Despite these efforts, Nasireddin remains confident in the determination and resistance of the Palestinian people. He emphasized that the people of the West Bank will not give up any of their land and will not succumb to the will of the invaders seeking to displace them.
The recent construction of 20 houses near Jerusalem by 15 Israeli families has sparked outrage among Palestinians. The Halkz settlement is just one of five approved by the Israeli government in June 2024, further exacerbating tensions in the region.
Nasireddin’s remarks underscore the ongoing struggle faced by Palestinians in the West Bank and Jerusalem. Despite threats and attempts at displacement, he remains steadfast in the belief that the Palestinian people’s determination will ultimately prevail against Israel’s aggressive settlement policies.
