The Karesi district of Balıkesir was left in shock as news broke of a tragic incident that took place in the Atatürk neighborhood. Ayten M. (75), a resident of the area, had not been seen for weeks, prompting concerned neighbors to alert the authorities. Police teams quickly mobilized and arrived at the scene to investigate.
Upon entering Ayten M.’s home, the police were greeted by a white dog and the woman’s son, Ş.M. The son initially refused to open the door, but eventually revealed that his mother was inside. Tragically, it was discovered that Ayten M. had passed away, unable to provide logical answers to the authorities’ questions. Ş.M. was then taken into custody for further questioning.
Despite the absence of any signs of assault or injuries from cutting tools on the elderly woman, Ayten M.’s death was deemed suspicious by the authorities. The public prosecutor was immediately notified, and the woman’s body was sent to the Forensic Medicine Institute for further examination.
Following the incident, crime scene investigation teams thoroughly searched the house, uncovering disturbing evidence. The family dog was safely taken to an animal shelter by municipal authorities, while the house itself was described as a “garbage house” and subsequently cleaned out by municipal teams.
