Heavy Rain Alert Issued for Eastern and Southeastern Anatolia Provinces
Heavy Showers Expected in Southeastern Turkey
The meteorology department has issued a statement warning of heavy showers expected in the southeastern regions of Turkey. It is predicted that the rains will begin after tonight and continue into tomorrow in the east of Şanlıurfa, Diyarbakır, Batman, and Mardin, as well as the west of Siirt and Şırnak.
The precipitation is expected to come in the form of heavy sleet and occasional heavy snowfall in the surrounding areas of Hakkari and Bitlis, the south of Muş, the south and west of Van, and the east of Siirt and Şırnak.
Residents are urged to be cautious and vigilant against potential floods, landslides, avalanches, and transportation disruptions that may occur as a result of the heavy rains. It is expected that the effects of the rain will diminish in the west of the region by the morning hours of Tuesday, March 19, and in the east by nightfall.
