High Water Quality in Majority of Bursa Beaches

The Provincial Health Directorate in Bursa has recently released data from their second round of “Swimming Water Pollution Monitoring Form” for August. The measurements were conducted at 24 beaches along the coast of the Marmara Sea, with 9 in Mudanya, 8 in Gemlik, 3 in Karacabey, and 4 on the shores of Lake Iznik.

The evaluation of the number of bacteria found in 100 millilitres of water categorized the results as either “guide value” or “mandatory value”. Fortunately, it was found that all beaches fell within the reference values range, indicating good water quality overall.

Specifically, public beaches in Mudanya such as Altıntaş, Burgaz Altınkum, and Kumyaka were rated as having good water quality, while beaches like Coşkunöz and Mesudiye were rated as medium quality. In Gemlik, beaches like Narlı and Büyükkumla also had good water quality, along with beaches in Karacabey such as Yeniköy and Malkara.

The assessment also extended to beaches along the shores of Lake Iznik, with locations like Göllüce, İnciraltı, and Orhangazi Public Beach all deemed to have good water quality.

Overall, the report provides reassurance to beachgoers and residents alike, confirming that the water quality at these popular destinations remains within acceptable standards.
