
Highlighting the Fight Against Corruption: The People’s Party Interview on BRTK

The People’s Party (HP) recently organized an interview focusing on the “Struggle against Corruption”. The event, which took place at Rüstem Bookstore, brought together key figures who discussed the challenges faced in combating corruption and potential solutions.
Former Parliament Speaker Sibel Siber, former Ombudsman Emine Dizdarlı, former Parliamentary Secretary General Mehmet Öner Ekinci, and KTAMS President Güven Bengihan were among the attendees who shared their insights on fighting corruption.
HP Chairman Kudret Özersay emphasized that the fight against corruption goes beyond fake diplomas, addressing issues such as bribery, non-tender purchases, tax privileges, and other forms of corruption that harm the public. He stated, “As a party, we see this issue as our priority agenda.”
Furthermore, Göksel Saydam, former Tax Office Director and founding member of the People’s Party, highlighted the need to strengthen control mechanisms to combat corruption effectively. Saydam emphasized that corruption not only leads to financial losses but also fosters various criminal activities.
Additionally, lawyer Uğur Çulhaoğlu, a member of the Party Party Assembly, pointed out the challenges in judicial processes that hinder the fight against corruption. He stressed the importance of thorough investigation, prosecution, and punishment in combating corruption.
Turgut Alas, the Secretary General of the People’s Party, underscored that addressing corruption requires both legal actions and societal awareness. He mentioned that corruption has become a pervasive issue in the country, leading to crimes such as smuggling, bribery, and money laundering.
