Hisarköy Orchid Festival Launched By BRTK
The 12th Hisarköy Orchid Festival has officially begun in Lapta Alsancak Çamlıbel Municipality. This year, the event is being organized in collaboration with Hisarköy Culture and Sports Association and Hisarköy Mukhtar. Hisarköy Mukhtar Can Şemi Polat highlighted the cultural and natural beauties of Hisarköy, emphasizing the importance of the festival.
Mayor Fırat Ataserde mentioned the various sectors operating in the region, including construction, real estate, animal husbandry, agriculture, and tourism. He emphasized the need for educational facilities in the town and announced plans to bring a new school to the region with a budget of 400 million Turkish liras allocated by the Ministry of Education.
To address economic challenges, efforts have been made to increase the purchasing power of residents. The minimum wage has been raised, and social insurance premiums have been adjusted. Plans for a new cold storage facility and developments in the citrus industry were also discussed.
Furthermore, Prime Minister Üstel highlighted the ongoing discussions about a marina project in the Lapta region and emphasized the importance of infrastructure investments. He outlined plans for new schools in neighboring areas and vocational high schools to meet the demand for technical personnel.
Looking to the future, the aim is to strengthen the institutional structure of the TRNC and gain recognition on the world stage. Cultural heritage and infrastructure remain essential in shaping the identity and political struggle of the Turkish Cypriot people.
