Historical Yalı Bath in Maltepe Engulfed in Flames

A fire broke out in the historical Yalı Bath in Maltepe, but fortunately, there were no casualties or injuries. The fire started in the hearth section of the waterside bath and quickly spread to the roof. Thankfully, firefighters were able to extinguish the flames before any major damage was done.
The incident occurred around 9:30 in the morning, and witnesses who saw the smoke quickly alerted the fire brigade. Fire crews arrived at the scene promptly and were able to contain the fire. The owner of the bath, Yaşar Durna, explained that the fire most likely started from a spark in the stove where pieces of wood were lit. The flames spread to the roof causing some damage, but Durna reassured that it wasn’t anything serious.
Despite the scare, the historical Yalı Bath remains standing, and no harm was done to those inside. The quick response from the firefighters helped prevent a potentially devastating outcome. The community is grateful that the situation was handled efficiently and that no lives were endangered.
