Honoring a Jewish Philanthropist.

The western Hungarian city of Kőszeg has changed the name of a public space, but for a different reason to the usual political one. Schey Fülöp Street replaced the former name of Zrínyi Miklós Street, to commemorate Fülöp Schey, the former town patron and builder of the local synagogue. The title was chosen to recognise a local figure who helped the poor and set up a kindergarten, the first in Hungary. Kathy Henderson, a member of the Schey family, launched her book, My Disappearing Uncle, at the Institute of Advanced Studies Kőszeg to coincide with Memorial Day.
