Honoring the Erenköy Resistance and Martyrs: BRTK Commemorates Today
Today marks the 60th anniversary of the Glorious Erenköy Resistance, and a commemoration ceremony will be held at the Erenköy Martyrs’ Cemetery to honor those who fell as martyrs during the resistance.
The ceremony, organized by the Information Department, will begin at 10:00 with the laying of wreaths at the monument in protocol order. This will be followed by a moment of silence, a firing range, the national anthem, the raising of the flags, and the signing of the Martyrdom Special Book.
President Ersin Tatar, Erenköy-Karpaz Mayor Hamit Bakırcı, and Erenköy Mujahideen Association President Mustafa Arıkan are expected to deliver speeches at the ceremony.
The event will conclude with a tour of the martyrs’ cemetery, where attendees will have the opportunity to lay flowers at the martyrs’ graves and recite prayers in their memory.
The Erenköy Resistance is a significant event in the history of the region, and this ceremony serves as a meaningful way to pay tribute to the courage and sacrifice of those who participated in the resistance.
