Houthis Shoot Down US Drone

The Houthis, a rebel group in Yemen, have claimed responsibility for shooting down a MQ-9 type UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) belonging to the United States. The incident occurred on the coast of Hacce province in northwest Yemen, according to Yahya Series, the Houthis military spokesman.

Series stated that the number of US UAVs downed by the Houthis has increased to 7, with a total of 20 UAVs targeted since the beginning of their attacks. The group also claimed to have targeted US navy aircraft carriers “Truman” and “Carl Vinson” in the Red Sea and Oman Sea with navigation missiles and UAVs.

In response, the US reportedly carried out a series of air strikes in cities such as Hudeyde and Sada in Yemen. Reports from Houthis al-Mesira television mentioned air strikes on Kamaran Island in Hudeyde, as well as in Es-Salif district. Additionally, four attacks were said to have taken place in the Al Salim region of Sada.

There is currently no information on the casualties or damage caused by the US air strikes in Yemen. The escalating conflict between the US and the Houthi rebels has been a source of tension, with threats and retaliatory actions being exchanged.

The situation in Yemen remains volatile as both sides continue to engage in hostilities. The international community is closely monitoring the developments in the region, hoping for a peaceful resolution to the conflict.
