Hungarian Boy Discovers Russian Connection in Email Hack of Bomb Threats

The teenager, who hacked the email behind the threats, found ties to the Russian email service provider, sparking speculation about the true source of the threats. According to reports by Szeretlek Magyarország, the bomb threats caused panic among 121 schools in Hungary, prompting teachers to take on the role of bomb technicians due to a shortage of specialized units. Police have been stationed at affected schools, but classes are continuing unless headteachers decide otherwise. An investigation into the threats, which pose a threat to public safety, has been initiated by authorities, including the secret service.
The email address used for the threats was hacked by the teenage programmer, revealing a history of suspicious activity linked to various illicit services and websites. The domain associated with the threats, “harcos@coredp.com,” has a murky past dating back to its closure in 2010. The programmer’s detailed investigation shed light on the domain’s questionable history, raising doubts about its involvement in the bomb threats.
Furthermore, the programmer’s findings uncovered a potential Russian connection through a Yandex account linked to the email address. While the programmer accessed a Pornhub account associated with the email, he was unable to reset the Yandex account without additional information. The threatening emails sent to Hungarian schools were also traced back to the same email address, leading to speculation about coordinated efforts by potentially Russian or state-sponsored individuals.
However, the programmer cautioned that the Russian link remains unconfirmed, as anyone could create a Yandex account to mislead investigators. It is essential to note that the information revealed by the teenager has not been verified by authorities. The ongoing investigation aims to determine the true source of the bomb threats and ensure the safety of students and staff in Hungarian schools.
