Hungarian Central Bank Representatives Attend Bank of China Conference
Hungary’s Deputy Governor of the National Bank, Mihály Patai, recently attended the Belt and Road Initiative and RMB Internationalization Forum in Hong Kong, where he was a keynote speaker in the opening session. In his speech, he emphasized the positive relationship between Hungary and China, particularly in terms of their central banks. Patai also spoke about the importance of the renminbi and its growing international role, as well as Hungary’s aspiration to become a regional financial center. While some have expressed skepticism about Hungary’s cooperation with China, the country views it as a beneficial partnership and is urging the European Union to seek a relationship based on mutual respect with China.
