Hungarian Company 77 Elektronika Begins Production in China
Hungarian-owned 77 Elektronika’s unit, 77 Medical Devices, has recently established a new medical device production facility in China, with an investment of USD 2 million. The 1,000sqm factory, located near Shanghai, will specialize in manufacturing LabUMat and UriSed urine analysers. In its first year of operation, the factory aims to produce 300 devices, with plans to increase production to 1,000 units within the next few years.
The decision to set up a production unit in China comes after 77 Elektronika’s successful 20-year presence in the Chinese market. The company recognized the importance of having a local production unit to better serve the preferences of hospitals in China, who prefer to source medical devices from local suppliers.
77 Elektronika, a global player in the medical devices industry, exports its products to nearly 100 countries worldwide. With a net sales revenue of HUF 35.2 billion (EUR 87.75 million) in 2023, the company continues to expand its presence and production capabilities to meet the growing demand for its innovative medical devices.
In related news, discussions on the cultural influence of China in Hungary have sparked debates, with experts highlighting the importance of preserving national identity amidst global interactions. Despite the economic collaborations between the two countries, concerns are raised about maintaining cultural integrity and independence in the face of foreign influences.
Overall, 77 Elektronika’s new production facility in China marks a significant milestone in the company’s global expansion strategy, reinforcing its commitment to serving diverse markets and meeting the evolving needs of the healthcare industry.
