Hungarian Foreign Minister Offers Condolences for Japan Earthquake

Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Péter Szijjártó, has extended his condolences and sympathy to Japanese Foreign Minister Yoko Kamikawa following the devastating earthquake that struck Japan on New Year’s Day.

In a letter sent to MTI, Szijjártó expressed his deep sadness upon learning about the tragic earthquake, stating, “Let me express my deepest condolence and sincere sympathy to you and the people of Japan in these tragic moments. We trust that your reconstruction efforts will be successful and life can soon return to normal.”

He also added, “Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families at this difficult time.”

As of Thursday, the number of victims has risen to 78, with 50 people still missing in Ishikawa prefecture, central Japan, following the magnitude 7.6 earthquake on New Year’s Day.

The Hungarian minister’s message of support comes as Japan continues to grapple with the aftermath of this natural disaster, and reaffirms his country’s solidarity with Japan during this challenging period.
