Hungarian Passport Ranked Among World’s Strongest

Nomad Capitalist Ranks World’s Passports: Swiss Passport Tops the List
Nomad Capitalist has recently released a list ranking the world’s passports based on five criteria, with the Swiss passport coming out on top as the strongest. The Hungarian passport also fared well in the rankings.
The criteria used by Nomad Capitalist to determine the strength of a passport goes beyond just visa-free travel. The weighted annual index takes into account visa-free travel, taxation of citizens, perception, dual citizenship, and personal freedom. According to CNBC, Switzerland secured the top spot in the 2024 Nomad Passport Index, followed by Ireland and Portugal.
One surprising development in the rankings was the performance of the United Arab Emirates, which dropped from first place in 2023 to sixth place in 2024, sharing the spot with countries like the Netherlands, Germany, and New Zealand, as reported by Portfolio.
Bulgaria is another country to watch, as its passport climbed from 42nd place to 32nd in just two years. This is primarily due to its upcoming integration into the Schengen area by the end of March.
On the list, the Hungarian passport is tied for 24th place alongside countries such as Romania, Austria, Monaco, Singapore, Croatia, and Cyprus. However, when countries with the same number of points are grouped together, Hungary jumps to 10th place.
