Hungarian President Visits Transylvania: See the Photos
Franciscan friar Csaba Böjte is being recognized for his outstanding work in the children’s homes he established, as President Tamás Sulyok praised his efforts during a visit to a facility in Déva, in western Romania. The Hungarian President presented a gift of toys to the children, which were collected from various homes within Böjte’s network. Sulyok expressed his emotions after witnessing a vibrant and closely-knit community at Déva.
During his visit, Sulyok emphasized the importance of community strength and mutual assistance in today’s world. He noted the significance of individuals listening to one another, especially evident in the interactions between the children, which he believes adults should learn from.
In another event commemorating the 35th anniversary of the 1989 Romanian revolution, President Tamas Sulyok highlighted the role of ethnic Hungarian pastor László Tőkés in the liberation and democratization of Romania. He credited Tőkés for his contribution to the freedom experienced in present-day Romania, particularly in Timisoara where the movement for change began.
Sulyok stressed the idea that freedom is collective and transcends ethnic boundaries, calling for unity and solidarity among different groups. He emphasized the importance of community engagement and collaboration as essential components of a free society.
