Hungarian Gin Brand Mrs Millicent Wins at World Gin Awards
Mrs Millicent, one of the top gin brands in Hungary, has recently achieved a major milestone as two of its versions were honored at the prestigious World Gin Awards. According to turizmus.com, Mrs Millicent’s “Summereasy” received a gold rank and was named Hungary’s best contemporary gin. The original “Speakeasy” type also received a bronze ranking in the same category.
The Speakeasy is a new-wave Hungarian gin that includes juniper, a blend of various spices, and herbs, such as cardamom, orange, and bergamot. On the other hand, the Summereasy gin is a citrus variation, featuring the juice of fruits, resulting in a refreshing and robust taste.
The vibrant taste and unique flavors of Mrs Millicent gins were praised by the jury of the World Gin Awards, earning the Summereasy the gold award for the best Hungarian contemporary gin. The distinct and audacious flavor of the original Speakeasy set it apart from traditional gins.
Mónika Czakó, co-owner of the BESTILLO pálinka distillery and wife of Gábor Czakó, the producer of Mrs Millicent gin, expressed her pride in her husband for developing a world-recognized product. She also credited their friends for encouraging them to submit their gin to the contest. She emphasized that the recognition is not only a significant milestone for their product and unique trademark but also for the entire Hungarian catering industry.
The recognition comes at a time when Hungary has been producing new gins in response to the changing drinking trends worldwide.
