Hungarian and Turkish Defence Companies Collaborate to Develop Armoured Vehicles
Hungarian and Turkish defence companies have joined forces to establish a joint venture aimed at developing the Hungarian assembly and production of Turkish Gidran armoured fighting vehicles. This collaboration will take place at the Rába Group’s production facility in Győr, located in western Hungary.
The partnership between Rába Jármű and the Hungarian subsidiary of Turkish company Nurol Makina ve Sanayi, Nurol Makina Hungary, was announced on Monday on the website of the Budapest Stock Exchange. The joint venture will see a significant involvement of Hungarian suppliers, with the primary focus being the production of vehicles for the Hungarian Armed Forces.
In addition to the two companies, the Hungarian defence ministry will also be involved in the joint venture. This collaboration marks an important milestone in strengthening the ties between the two countries in the field of defence and security.
This news comes on the heels of an announcement that Italian company, Beretta, is set to manufacture arms in Hungary, further demonstrating the country’s growing role in the defence industry.
The establishment of this joint venture is not only significant for the development of armoured fighting vehicles but also for enhancing the capabilities of the Hungarian defence industry.
