This highly-anticipated event aims to showcase Hungarian folk culture and tradition, as well as promote and preserve Hungaricums – unique Hungarian products and customs.
The festival, renowned as the best Hungarian open-air event in the region, will feature a diverse range of activities and attractions. Visitors can look forward to a fair with local farmers and craftsmen, where they can browse and purchase traditional goods such as honey, lavender, chimney cakes, artisanal cheeses, and more. Craft demonstrations will also be available for those interested in learning about traditional Hungarian craftsmanship.
The Hungarikum Days will not only satisfy the senses but also provide educational opportunities for children. The festival offers a variety of activities for the younger generation to learn about Hungarian folk culture and traditions. From shoe weaving to ribbon embroidery, wood carving, and bead embroidery, children can immerse themselves in the rich heritage of Hungary.
Food enthusiasts will be delighted by the wide selection of traditional Hungarian delicacies available at the festival. Visitors can indulge in pálinka, craft beers, wines, and taste mouthwatering dishes including Alföldi goulash, Székely lángos, and chimney cakes with paprika. A cooking competition, scheduled for July 1, will showcase the talent and creativity of 25 teams as they prepare traditional dishes in pots. The dishes will be judged by an esteemed eight-member professional jury.
Cultural programs will also be a highlight, featuring performances by citera players, brass bands, orchestras, folk singers, and a folk dance theater show. The festival will conclude with a vibrant dance house where attendees can immerse themselves in the traditional dances of Hungary.
