
Hungary Celebrates Independence Day with Spectacular Fireworks Display

Thousands Gather to Celebrate St. Stephen’s Day in Hungary
On August 20th, Hungarians came together to celebrate St. Stephen’s Day, a national holiday that commemorates the foundation of Hungarian statehood in the year 1000. Named after King Stephen, the first Christian ruler of Hungary, the holiday has been celebrated since 1891.
