Hungary Ranked as One of the Safest Countries Globally
Hungary Ranked Among Safest 6% of Countries in the World
According to Géza Sebestyén, Head of the Economic Policy Workshop at Mathias Corvinus Collegium (MCC), Hungary has been included in the safest 6% of countries in the world. This information comes from the World Risk Report 2024, which aims to analyze the links between natural events, climate change, development, and preparedness at a global level.
The report covers 193 countries, including all United Nations member states and 99% of the world’s population. The study highlights that risk hotspots are primarily in North and South America and Asia, with eight of the ten highest-risk countries located in these regions. Mexico and Colombia have swapped places, with Colombia now having the highest risk in the Americas.
In Europe, Italy is considered the riskiest country, ranking 48th on the list of countries. Germany, on the other hand, has improved slightly and is now placed 98th globally. Hungary, however, ranks 183rd out of 193 countries, signaling that it is among the safest countries in the world.
This means that Hungary is as safe as Monaco, Luxembourg, or Denmark. The country is deemed less susceptible to risks, less vulnerable, and very resilient. These findings have shed a positive light on Hungary’s status in terms of safety and preparedness.
Overall, Hungary’s inclusion in the safest 6% of countries signifies its commitment to ensuring the well-being and security of its citizens. This recognition is a testament to the country’s efforts in maintaining a safe environment amidst global challenges.
