Hungary and Kyrgyzstan Strengthen Ties Through Successful Cooperation

Hungary’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Péter Szijjártó, has highlighted the increasingly close relationship between Hungary and Kyrgyzstan. Since Hungary began building relationships with the fast-developing central Asian region, significant benefits have already been realized.

According to Szijjártó, trade turnover between Hungary and Kyrgyzstan reached a record high last year and has continued to grow significantly this year. Hungarian companies are finding success in the Kyrgyz market, particularly in the health industry, pharmaceuticals, food processing, and the sowing seed sector.

Notable achievements include the establishment of a Kyrgyz-Hungarian development fund two years ago, which has already financed two joint investment projects in the machine industry and animal farming. Plans are also underway for a hydropower investment project.

Hungary has also expressed appreciation for Kyrgyzstan’s role in the global fight against terrorism and has pledged support for Kyrgyzstan’s application for non-permanent membership in the UN Security Council. Szijjártó emphasized that both countries stand together as part of the global pro-peace majority in relation to the conflict in Ukraine.

The positive relationship between Hungary and Kyrgyzstan signifies a successful partnership built on cooperation and mutual respect. As trade and investment opportunities continue to flourish, both countries are poised for further collaboration in various sectors for mutual benefit.
