The Aquaticum beach in Debrecen, Hungary, is set to open in the second half of May for the 2025 summer season, marking its 5th anniversary since its successful renewal. The beach, which originally opened in 1932 and underwent a major reconstruction between 2018 and 2020, has become one of the most unique beach destinations in Hungary.
Last year, the Aquaticum welcomed over 217 thousand visitors, breaking records for the number of guests. The beach offers a variety of pools and program opportunities for visitors of all ages, ranging from kids’ pools to wave, adventure, sport, relax, and spa pools. Additionally, the facility includes sports grounds and special programs such as the night of pools.
Located in Debrecen, a 2.5-3 hour drive from Budapest or a 2.5-hour train ride from the capital, the beach is easily accessible to visitors from all over Hungary. The Aquaticum is set to open on 23 May, one week earlier than last year.
In addition to the Aquaticum in Debrecen, another popular beach destination in the region is the spa capital of Hungary, Hajdúszoboszló. The spa will open next week on 1 May, with free concerts to welcome guests. The gradual opening of pools and beach services will continue throughout May and June, with the Aqua-Palace waterpark offering year-round entertainment for all visitors.
