The 2025 Presidential Election in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus
The people of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) are gearing up for the upcoming presidential election, which is held every five years. President Ersin Tatar has announced that he will be running for re-election in the 2025 Presidential election.
In a recent interview with a private channel, President Tatar expressed his intentions to seek another term in office. He stated, “I am waiting for the support of people who defend the two-state solution policy and want to establish good relations with Türkiye. The support I will receive is important. The political stance I represent, the rooting and institutionalization of the two-state solution policy I have put forward with Türkiye and the institutionalization. Students, tourists and business people who came to the country due to the good relations we have created with Türkiye have increased.”
President Tatar’s commitment to the two-state solution policy and his efforts to strengthen relations with Türkiye have been key focus areas of his presidency. He hopes to continue building on the progress made in these areas and is seeking the support of the people in the upcoming election.
